NaPoWriMo Day 27 – I Am

I Am, But a Clay

I Am, But a Clay

When I was gathered from the depth
of earth and formed to the creator’s
liking – I Am. I stand here alone.
What made me I Am?

What makes us different?
Half and half we are different.
Who made us different?
The creator, or the created one?

 We all long for perfection
And we pray for that longing.
Look at me now.
I never reach that perfection.

For I don’t even know
What perfection is like.
If you will tell me now
I may know if – I AM.

Our prompt today from NaPoWriMo is an ekphrastic poem. This is something similar — a poem written from a photograph.
